For more than 30 years, Al Lhota has managed high-yield fixed-income investment departments for a variety of New York-area brokerages. A resident of Vero Beach, Florida, he recently participated in the financial restructuring of Southeastern Grocers. As a non-executive board member, Al Lhota helped guide the company through Chapter 11 bankruptcy by making it ready for a public equity offering or a possible merger. Under his oversight, Southeast Grocers more than doubled its net income before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization.

Mr. Lhota’s career in finance began with an institutional sales position at ScotiaMcLeod, where he offered clients fixed income investments. From there, he shifted to a similar position at UBS before becoming a top-producing partner at Libra Investments.

In 2001 Mr. Lhota returned to UBS as an executive director. In his last two of six years in that role, he increased earnings at UBS’ London office. He then assumed senior management posts at RBS Greenwich , Knight Capital and Stifel, where he directed various fixed income businesses as well as origination in leveraged finance.

An avid golfer and hunter, Al Lhota is a lifetime member of Safari Club International. He also has a membership at The Stanwich Club in Greenwich, Connecticut, and Quail Valley Golf Club in Vero Beach, Florida.
